Syndicate of Money Changers fixes dollar rate at 2000 LBP

The Syndicate of Money Changers issued on Tuesday a statement announcing that the rate for the exchange of Lebanese lira to US dollars will be fixed at 2000 LBP.

“After a series of consultations with the competent financial and supervisory authorities to reduce the USD exchange rate, the Syndicate, in agreement with the Banque du Liban Governor has decided to fix the purchasing price of the US dollar at 2000 LBP as of tomorrow, Wednesday, 22/1/2020,” the syndicate declared.
 
The statement confirmed that any violator of this decision will be subject to administrative and legal penalties by the competent authorities.
