Aoun: Lebanon stands in solidarity with Palestinians

President Michel Aoun expressed Lebanon’s solidarity with the Palestinian people in a telephone call with President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday following the updates of the Middle East peace plan.

Aoun affirmed Lebanon’s commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative endorsed by the Arab League in 2002 with the aim of ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Aoun also underlined Lebanon’s support of the right of return for Palestinian refugees and the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
