Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri voiced on Wednesday keenness with President Michel Aoun on forming a new government.
Hariri’s comments were made after visiting President Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace.
“There are still some obstacles in the government formation process and stopping the collapse requires a government,” he added.
Hariri reiterated that he is adamant on forming a government made of experts.
“We are capable of stopping the collapse but we must first be humble and put the interests of the country above all,” Hariri went on to say.
He also hoped that a new government would be formed after New Year.
“Officials must think about the needy citizens and those affected by the Beirut blast,” Hariri explained.
“The country is collapsing fast,” he concluded by saying.
