"We discussed teachers and contractors’ demands, as well as demands of private and public schools. We also agreed to expedite some steps that require specific training procedures in order to provide essential supplies for the official sector namely transportation allowance, social grants, in addition to meeting teachers and contractors' demands," Halabi stated.

Furthermore, Halabi mentioned that "they discussed the Lebanese University (LU) issue, as they both agreed on the necessity of strengthening its role in the next stage," adding that "appointing the LU president will be either on the cabinet's agenda, either today or next week."

On another hand, Aoun also received the General President of the Basilian Savior Congregation Archimandrite Antoine Deeb, elected Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Diocese of Canada Father Milad Al Jawish, and Father Gilbert Wardi.

Archimandrite Deeb invited President Aoun to attend the episcopal ordination of the new metropolitan, which will be held on Saturday, October 30 at the Monastery of the Savior in Joun, Al Chouf. This occasion will be celebrated by Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Youssef Al Absi.
