Fadulian: Recurrent motions to dismiss show they have something to fear

"Lawyers defend people, the law gives them the right to defense, and we are doing our jobs," he added in an interview with Nharkom Said.

In response to the demand that they appear before the investigation and defend themselves, Khoury said: "We are the ones who decide the means of defense."

From her end, Head of the Beirut Port Explosion Victims' Families Association Mariana Fadulian clarified in the same interview that she understood that everyone has the right to defense, but considered that “the recurrent motions to dismiss make it very clear that they have something to fear, and that they are unable to defend themselves.”

Fadulian reiterated her request that they go to the judicial investigator to prove their innocence, and "allow Judge Tarek Bitar to go on with the investigation."

"We stand by Bitar, he is working transparently, and if he makes any mistake, we will stand against him," she added.
