Total number of non-resident Lebanese registered to vote has reached 230,466
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants announced on Wednesday that “based on Election Law No. 44/2017 and Law No. 8 in force dated November 3, 2021, especially the new third paragraph of Article 113, the registration for non-resident Lebanese who wish to vote abroad has ended on Saturday 20/11/2021 at midnight.”
 
The number of non-resident Lebanese registered to vote has reached 244,442.
 
The Ministry also indicated that “based on the provisions of the aforementioned new law, it has sent electoral lists received from missions abroad respectively to the Directorate General of Personal Status, until Tuesday 30/11/2021 at midnight, and the total number of registered persons sent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Directorate General of Personal Status has reached 230,466.”
 
However, the rest of the applications registered were rejected for “not meeting the conditions stipulated for registration, either because of repetition, or because of the expiry of legal period.”
