US ambassador to Lebanon Shea pays visit to Supreme Islamic Shiite Council

US ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea paid a visit on Wednesday to the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council where she discussed the current situation in Lebanon with the Vice President of the Council Sheikh Ali al-Khatib.

 

Sheikh al-Khatib stressed the need to activate dialogue between the Lebanese to solve the economic and living crises, thanking every effort that helps to alleviate the burdens and curb the economic collapse.

 

Al-Khatib also stressed the need to provide aid for the Lebanese state’s institutions so they can reach those that deserve them, rather than being exploited in the electoral process.

 

“We see the electoral process as a chance for Lebanese to express their views, choose their representatives, and achieve political stability for the country,” he added.
