President of Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-clubs and Pastries in Lebanon Tony al-Ramy welcomed on Thursday the decision of Caretaker Tourism Minister Walid Nassar to issue a circular allowing tourist establishments to set their prices in USD and accept payments in LBP at the market exchange rate.
Al-Ramy’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI, whereby he explained that each of the productive sectors has an income in Lebanese pounds, while its purchases and its operational cost are in US dollars.
Al-Ramy also pointed out that if this circular is signed, it will help protect the tourism sector in Lebanon, encourage competition and ensure transparency.
