Secretary General of Maritime Tourism Institutions Fouad Frangieh revealed on Saturday that Lebanon lost 40,000 employees during the course of the past two years’ economic turmoil, pointing out that COVID-19 also contributed in their loss.
Frangieh’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI, whereby he stressed that in 2022 season, they were able to employ 40,000 employees.
He went on to explain that the employee's salaries have become acceptable today, adding that they succeeded in re-employing 40,000 people, and the tourism sector will succeed in making $3 billion from now until the end of the summer.
