Mikati meets Caretaker Health Minister Abiad

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met on Thursday with Caretaker Health Minister Firas Abiad, whereby they discussed the availability of drugs for cancer and incurable diseases, and the ministry's plans to automate the drug distribution process.

 

During the meeting, they agreed to issue funding for the next three months, and to increase it by five million US dollars each month, which will be allocated to increase the quantities for cancer and incurable disease drugs.

 

On another note, the Minister indicated that there is no problem in the medical supplies for dialysis patients, because the appropriate money are transferred each month and have been in recent months.

 

He went on to explain that the Ministry, through the Banque du Liban, transferred the amounts, and indeed many of these supplies arrived at the beginning of this week, adding that another batch will arrive next week.
