Makhzoumi continues his meetings in Washington
Head of the National Dialogue Party MP Fouad Makhzoumi continued on Monday his meetings in Washington, accompanied by his political advisor Carol Zouein.
 
He met with a number of senior officials, most notably US Congressmen Daryl Issa and Darren Lahoud, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Ethan Goldrich, Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, State Department Coordinator for Counterterrorism, former Ambassador Elizabeth Richard, former Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman, former US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker, Head of the Economic Unit in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Nadine Zaatar, Chargé d'Affairs at the Lebanese Embassy in Washington Wael Hashem, along with the embassy's diplomatic team.
 
Makhzoumi said that talks with representatives focused on the overall state of affairs in Lebanon and the need to hold the presidential election within the parameters set forth by the constitution. The development of a thorough reform and rescue plan that will gradually put an end to the suffering and crises of the Lebanese people was also emphasized as being among the priorities, along with the implementation of the reforms requested by the IMF due to their strategic importance in putting Lebanon on the path to rescue.
 
The latest developments in the demarcation of maritime borders dossier were also discussed.

It is worth noting that Makhzoumi gave two lectures at the International Republic Institute, focusing on the situation in Lebanon and ways to get the country out of its crises.
