Head of Infectious Diseases at the Notre Dame de Secours University Hospital Dr. Madona Mattar refuted the theory saying that there is a bacteria that does not die by boiling.

 

She explained how cholera is spread through consuming contaminated food or drinking water and added that Lebanon's crumbling infrastructure makes the situation worse by causing drinking water to be contaminated with sewage, as well as the absence of electricity necessary for refining.
