Lebanese mission begins rescue operations in Turkey

Caretaker Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassine, stated via Twitter that the first Lebanese mission for search and rescue to Turkey began yesterday to rescue a child stuck under the rubble in Elbistan town in Kahramanmaraş province.

The Lebanese rescue mission to Syria and Turkey continues.

On Tuesday, Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, held a meeting in the Fire Brigade building in Karantina, stating that in consultation with Caretaker Prime Minister Mikati, Lebanon has opened its air and sea facilities to transport companies loaded with humanitarian aid from countries, institutions, and international organizations to Syria, and to exempt them from the airport and port fees.

Adding that "this decision of ours came as a result that some companies refrained from docking and landing in the Syrian ports and airports as a result of the sanctions imposed on them."
