MP Gemayel from Baabda: We stand by President Aoun, the government, and its head

Kataeb Party leader and MP Samy Gemayel voiced his party's full support for President Joseph Aoun and the government following a meeting between the Kataeb parliamentary bloc and the president at Baabda Palace.

"We stand by President Aoun, the government, and its head. We had been waiting for this day and are proud of the courage shown by President Aoun and the government in working to build a state for all Lebanese," Gemayel said.

He described Aoun's approach as an attempt to open a "new chapter" in Lebanon's history, one where the country is free from external guardianship for the first time and built through partnership among all Lebanese.

Gemayel extended a hand to all Lebanese "under the roof of the state," urging everyone to join the "train of the rule of law" to achieve stability and prosperity. He stressed that the decision taken on Thursday was in the interest of all Lebanese, regardless of sect, ensuring that the law will protect everyone.

"We must reassure those who feel the decision targets them that no one is seeking to exclude anyone," he added, noting that Hezbollah must decide how it will engage with this new direction. 

"We must confirm that we are in a climate of partnership and cooperation, not exclusion," he said.
