REPORT: Ceasefire reached in Ain el-Helweh after overnight clashes
A ceasefire was reached on Sunday in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Helweh after a night of fierce clashes that left two people dead and seven others injured.

Contacts between Palestinian and Lebanese national and Islamist forces have managed to establish a ceasefire in Ain el-Helweh, after fierce overnight clashes between the Fatah Movement and the Joint Palestinian Security Force against the two groups of the Islamist militants Bilal Badr and Bilal al-Orqoub.

The two killed were identified as Ahmed al-Fares and Saeed al-Daoud.

The formation of “a follow-up committee” that sought to withdraw armed men from the streets had preceded the ceasefire agreement.
