REPORT: Public schools are a choice not an alternative to private schools

On the first week of school registration, the number of students registered at the public schools has reached 120 thousand students, noting that the deadline could be extended until October 10.

Last year, the number of Lebanese students at public schools was 260 thousand, 55 thousand of which were registered in the secondary schools.

The public schools must be considered as a choice rather than an alternative for private schools, and they are open for all citizens and free.

Amid the tuition fees crisis, the public school in Lebanon could be the solution for some citizens as private schools refuse to retract the tuition increase, deemed by many as “unjustified.”
