Since his first intervention at a cabinet session, Economy Minister Raed Khoury asked whether or not Lebanon has an economic plan.
Since then, Khoury sought the cabinet’s approval to assign a foreign company to conduct a study in order to draft an economic plan for Lebanon with short-term and long term economic targets.
The plan is supposed to have three main themes:
Defining Lebanon’s economic identity and vision
Determining the economic sectors that need expansion, support and protection
Setting up project that can be implementing within a short term
As for the targets that the plan seeks to accomplish are as follow:
Achieving economic growth
Attracting investments for employment in the productive sectors to stimulate the economy
Creating job opportunities to reduce unemployment
