REPORT: Religious summit held in Bkerke

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian asserted on Thursday that Lebanon supports the liberation of all Palestinian territories.

 

“US president Donald Trump’s decision violates all religions and to the dignity of Arabs and Muslims and to the rights of the Palestinian people,” Derian said during the opening of the Islamic Christian summit on Jerusalem in Bkerke.

“Derian stressed that he will not accept “Judaizing the city of Jerusalem,” saying that will support the Palestinians’ legitimate right to resist."

 

For his part, Higher Shiite Islamic Council head Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan said that President Michel Aoun represents all Lebanese people.

 

He also noted that Bkerke is a Lebanese territory that represents all Lebanese people.

 

Meanwhile, Druze spiritual leader Sheik al-Aql Naim Hassan said that Jerusalem is a city of peace not wars.

 

This as Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said that Trump’s announcement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is an unjust decision against the Palestinians, Arabs, Christians and Muslims and violates International, United Nations and International law’s resolutions.

 

Rai called for implementing the International legitimacy’s resolutions that gives Jerusalem a special International status.
