REPORT: Lebanon bans Steven Spielberg’s “The Post”

Lebanon has banned the screening of “The Post,” the latest film by acclaimed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg.

The censorship committee revealed that Spielberg made a $1 million donation to Israel during the 2006 conflict with Lebanon.

However, since 2006 until today, 21 movies by Spielberg were screened in Lebanese theaters, and since 2010, 15 of his movies were screened.

The Post, starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, is a drama about the Washington Post’s Katharine Graham, the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee, as they expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades.
