REPORT: Minister Khatib from Beit Chabab: Disinformation campaign launched by MP Gemayel is incorrect
Minister of Environment Tareq Khatib asserted on Tuesday that the waste of the Beit Chabab region is being randomly thrown.

Minister Khatib’s comments were made from Beit Chabab whereby he noted that large amounts of waste reach the shore of Keserwan from the Naher al-Kaleb River.

Khatib concluded by stressing that the disinformation campaign launched by Kataeb Party leader MP Sami Gemayel on Monday about the source of waste on the keserwan shore of Keserwan is “incorrect.”

Yesterday, Gemayel called on Environment Minister and head of the Council for Development and Reconstruction to resign for failing to assume the responsibility of the waste crisis.

Gemayel noted that they will resort to international judiciary in the issue of garbage, adding that today’s scenes (referring to the piles of garbage covering the Zouk Mosbeh – Nahr al-Kalb shores) are nothing but a natural consequence of neglect.
