Concerned parties were surprised when head of the Lebanese Democratic Party Talal Erslan raised the issue of the objection voiced by some religious men over using photographs of Druze Sheikhat without their veil on the identity card.
Said parties said that this matter of issuing special IDs for veiled women or Druze Sheikhat is not new, adding that in order to preserve such privacy, mainly in some sects, a mechanism was put in place to take into consideration these conditions years ago.
