Prime Minister Saad Hariri chaired the meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with discussing the 2018 budget draft law. The meeting was attended by deputy PM Minister Ghassan Hasbani, as well as ministers Ali Hassan Khalil, Mohammad Fneish, Raed Khoury, Jamal al-Jarrah, Ayman Choucair and Youssef Finianos, as well as Director General of the Finance Ministry Alain Bifani and the cabinet Secretary General Fouad Fleifel.
Following the meeting, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said that “discussion has not yet tackled the numbers, but a number of items included in the budget.”
“We are still at the beginning of the discussion and we have a long way to go, some items were postponed until tomorrow’s meeting,” he explained.
