REPORT: Kidnapped schoolgirl freed, abductors arrested

The state-run national News Agency reported that a seven-year-old girl Salha Katouh was kidnapped on Thursday morning in front of her house in the Central Bekaa town of Bar Elias.

In a phone call with the agency, the girl’s father said that kidnappers had contacted him and asked for a $250,000 ransom.

He said that the abductors were aboard a silver SUV.

 

Later in the day, the security forces were able to free the girl and to arrest the kidnappers without paying the ransom.
