The historic traffic crisis along the highway at Beirut north entrances, mainly from Tabarja into the capital could be resolved should the Beirut project for public transportation passes the cabinet, and most importantly in case it gets implemented fast.
The World Bank approved a package to fund the public transportation project in Beirut at an amount of $295 million, including loans and a $70 million in grant, in a step to launch the first modern public transportation network in Lebanon since decades.
