President Michel Aoun thanked on Monday the ministers for their performance during the Cabinet’s mandate, asking them to turn the Cabinet into a caretaker government starting today midnight.

Aoun’s comments were made during the final session of the Cabinet whereby he asked Prime Minister Saad Hariri to prepare a report about the Cabinet’s achievements "to be presented to the Lebanese people."

During the session, the Cabinet approved decision to grant the employees of Lebanon's governmental hospitals the wage scale.

The government also approved a three-year extension for the contracts of the Turkish power-generating ships.

This as Minister of Energy Cesar Abi Khalil said that negotiations were done over the power ships and cost cuts were obtained for the next three years and additional 200 megawatts for free.

On another note, Minister of Information Melhem Riachi said that a ministerial committee that includes Minister of Sports and Minister of Telecommunication was formed to follow up on the negotiations with the SAMA group to broadcast the World Cup 2018 on Tele Liban.

The committee shall present a report in this regard to the prime minister before June 5.
