During LBCI’s "Nharkom Said" Talk Show on Saturday morning, Journalist Salem Zahran presented a document stating that the Mikati Group received $14 million worth of housing loans, backed by Lebanon’s Central Bank.
Sources close to BDL governor told LBCI that these loans go back to the years 2010 and 2013, stressing that they are not related to the current housing loans crisis.
The sources added that this document is related to the probe launched by BDL three months ago into the housing loans, emphasizing that the banks that committed any violation will be held accountable.
In turn, the Mikati Group refused to comment on the document, but well-informed sources said that these loans were taken from Bank Audi and are for a period of 7 years, with conditions preventing leasing or selling the property during said period.
