A study conducted by the Lebanese Democratic Women Gathering on a sample of 1200 persons aged 18 and above, from various Lebanese governorates and social and economic groups, showed that 80% of the Lebanese deem child marriage “a crime.”
97% of them consider that the best age for marriage for girls in 18 and above.
64% of the people support passing a law determining the legal age of marriage at 18 for both men and women.
