Five years since abduction of Lebanese cameraman Samir Kassab

Five years have passed since the abduction of Cameraman Samir Kassab and his two colleagues, Mauritanian Reporter Isaac Mokhtar and Syrian driver Adnan Ajaj from Sky News on October 15, 2013.

The team was filming a report on Eid al-Adha in rural Aleppo, when contact was lost with them.

Some said that the Islamic State abducted them, while others declared that they were not in IS’ custody.

When search kicked off for Kassab and his companions, it had been revealed that the region, from which they were abducted, had witnessed several similar incidents where the Islamic State had kidnapped journalists and activists.
