Aoun reiterates commitment to resolution 1701

President Michel Aoun met on Thursday with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Pernille Dahler Kardel at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

 

During the meeting, Aoun asserted to Kardel that Lebanon is waiting for the results of field reports concerning “the tunnels near the southern border.

 

He also reiterated that Lebanon's commitment to resolution 1701, adding however that Israel is repeatedly violating Lebanon's sovereignty.
