Polish team proposes alternative to incinerators as waste treatment process

Amid a wave of concern among the Lebanese people over the possible use of incinerators as a solid waste treatment method, given the toxic residues and flying ash they can produce and can be very harmful, not to mention the high cost of this method, a new technique was proposed by a Polish team at the parliament and Beirut’s municipality.

The new method is called “mineralization,” it does not produce toxic ashes, it is much cheaper and needs less energy for all the process, according to the team.
