A number of women stage sit-in in Bkerki

A number of women gathered outside Bkerki at 10 AM on Thursday to protest against a verdict issued by the spiritual court on Dolly al-Khabbaz, who is carrying out a sit-in in front of the patriarchal compound since three days ago after a court ruling forbade her from custody of her children.

Al-Khabbaz, who has been on hunger strike for three days, addressed an open letter to Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai.

She called on him to intervene directly to prevent injustice against her and against every woman due to unjust verdicts issued by spiritual courts.
