PM Saad Hariri commemorates his father’s death
Prime Minister Saad Hariri visited on Thursday his late father’s grave after attending the rally commemorating ex-PM Rafik Hariri at the Seaside Arena in Beirut.

Hariri told the crowd during the event, “Rafik Hariri's dream is still with us. Rafik Hariri was not martyred in order for the country to be destroyed.”

“The verdict session in the case of the martyrs and his companions will be held in a few months and this year is the year of justice. The verdict will not be a method for revenge. We will not allow anyone to turn the verdict into a strife among the Lebanese,” he added.

He reiterated, “We have a major workshop ahead in the government. We spent years linking the region’s crises to our country and today we are before a crossroads: we either drown in dispute or we embark on work.”

“We have a clear program based on transparency and reforms, not thieves and opportunists. We wish to see zero debates and problems around the Cabinet’s table, because nothing should be put ahead of the country’s interest,” he also stated.

He ended his speech saying, “We will not accept, under any circumstances, to turn the country into a tool for handing over the refugees to the regime as hostages. Lebanon does not belong to any axis and is not an arena for the race to arms. Lebanon is a state that has a constitution and it has stressed its commitment to the policy of dissociation.”
