A video was leaked and was widely shared, depicting MP Dima Jamali accusing the Constitutional Council of accepting bribes.
Jamali issued a statement whereby she explained that her remarks were cut and taken out of context, adding that the part that was leaked included political remarks about the pressures exerted on the members of the Constitutional Council, since the decision shifted from direction to the other at the last moment, leading to annulling her election.
Consequently, Constitutional Council head Issam Sleiman announced that he intends to sue Jamali for defamation.
