Five primary sections constitute the main door to tax evasion in Lebanon, starting with the revenue tax, followed by the Value Added Tax, Electricity fees, Customs fees and property tax.
According to a report issued by Bank Audi in 2018, the evasion from paying revenue tax costs the state around $2 billion per year.
The VAT evasion falls in second ranks with $1.5 billion per year, which is caused by the nature of the Lebanese economy based on import and consumption.
