Sea and land border dispute: The latest
Sources told LBCI on Monday that the US efforts concerning the negotiations between Lebanon and Israel over the sea and land border dispute has entered a critical phase marked by a significant positivity.

The same sources added that Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield will return to Lebanon within days to continue discussions after current talks ended.

The sources noted that the indirect negotiating process has been resolved, which includes the four sides: Lebanon, Israel and the United Nations, as a sponsor of the negotiations, and the United States, which will play the role of mediator.

As for the level of negotiators, the sources noted that it is linked to the needs of each side, such as experts and technical experts on the issues of borders and international law, revealing that the debate is currently ongoing over securing guarantees before the start of the negotiation process in the sense that Lebanon will obtain all its land, sea and oil wealth rights.
