Beirut hosted a special event at the National Library to celebrate the birthday of Queen Elizabeth.
Prince Edward’s wife, Sophie, represented the queen on her birthday in Beirut, and became the first member of the royal family to ever visit Lebanon.
The Countess of Wessex spent two days holding humanitarian meetings in the Lebanese capital, as well as in the Bekaa and Sawfar, working on her mission to address the issue of sexual violence resulting from wars and conflicts.
She was accompanied by the Prime Minister's Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief Lord Ahmad.
