Aoun meets Russian delegation, receives invitation to attend Astana III talks

President Michel Aoun received on Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, in the presence of Russian Ambassador Alexander Zaspkin and the accompanying diplomatic delegation at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

Discussions reportedly featured high over the recent developments in Lebanon and the region, mainly in Syria, the Syrian refugees crisis and the Astana III talks.

This as the Russian delegation handed President Aoun an invitation to attend the Astana III talks scheduled at the end of July.
