Berri: Commitment to agreed appointments mechanism is necessary

MP Ali Bazzi quoted on Wednesday Speaker Nabih Berri as praising the work of the Finance Committee.

 

As for the 2 percent fee on imports, Berri said following his weekly meeting with MPs in Ain el-Tineh "that there is a possibility to amend the draft text."

 

“We are waiting for the amendment to discuss it at the Finance Committee,” Berri stressed.

As for the “deal of the century”, Berri was quoted as saying that Lebanon’s stance is unified in this regard, praising also the unified Palestinian position on this matter.

On another note, Berri reiterated the need to commit to the agreed appointments mechanism, especially that the country “is in dire need of an economic and reformist state of emergency.”
