Salameh to LBCI: International community has good intentions towards Lebanon and wants stability
Governor of the Banque du Liban Riyad Salameh said on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with LBCI that "the International community has good intentions towards Lebanon and wants stability," noting that the pressure exerted by International sides and agencies is “in the interest of the country because Lebanon must control its deficit, mainly in the public sector.”

As for the contribution of the Banque du Liban to the subscription of treasury bills with a 1% interest to reduce the deficit, Salameh told LBCI on the sidelines of the Euromoney conference in Beirut: "We are in contact with the Ministry of Finance to discuss the mechanism that will lead to significant results in the budget and at the same time maintain stability."

This as Salameh noted that “Lebanese banks have their own conditions governed by their capacities and results, and no one will force them to contribute to this process.”
