From 2% to 3% fee on imports: What changed? How will it affect the revenues?

The 2% customs fee on imported goods previously added to the budget draft law was removed due to veto from Hezbollah, Amal Movement and the Lebanese Forces.

However, because this item was supposed to guarantee 400 billion LBP in revenues, many insisted on keeping it, even if it was in an amended form. Therefore and after discussions conducted by the Finance Ministry, it was decided to impose a customs fee of 3% on imports subject to the Value Added Tax.
