A new batch of Syrian refugees left the city of Tripoli on Thursday, within the framework of a plan implemented by the General Directorate of Lebanon’s General Security, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Refugees previously registered in this batch gathered on Rashid Karami international exhibition center in the city, under the supervision of General Security officers, who worked on verifying the identity of departing Syrians and organizing their seating on buses belonging to the Syrian Ministry of Transport.

Head of the North General Security Division, Colonel Khattar Nasreddine supervised the return of refugees and reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to the voluntary and safe return of Syrians to their homeland.

Another group of refugees also left towns in the district of Hasbaya, mostly women and children.
