Over the past seven years, the electricity deficit reached nearly $10 billion.


In 2019, the Electricity Du Liban needed $1.7 billion to purchase fuel for the power plants.


EDL can manage to pay $800 million, leaving a deficit of $900 million on paper. But these 800 million are not used to buy fuel, but to pay salaries, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of power plants and other matters.
