Parliament raises banking secrecy by decree, not by law
House Speaker Nabih Berri on Friday adjourned the Parliament session and told MPs that in response to the President of the Republic we have decided the following, “The accounts of the Central Bank, ministries, independent departments, councils, financial institutions, municipalities, and all state funds are subject to forensic audit without any hindrances or attempts at invoking banking secrecy or otherwise."
