Details about today’s presidential election session-[REPORT]
The House of Representatives held on Thursday the first presidential election session.

In the first round, Michel Moawad received 36 votes, while 11 MPs voted for Salim Eddeh, 63 MPs casted blank ballot, 10 deputies voted for “Lebanon,” one voted for young Iranian woman Mahsa Amini who died in custody, and one voted for the “approach of Rashid Karami.”

However, after announcing the voting results of the first round, many MPs left the session, which prompted Speaker Nabih Berri to suspend the session for loss of quorum.
MP Karim Kabbara then revealed that he was the one who voted for the “approach of Rachid Karami.”

He also stated that “in the absence of serious presidential candidates’ names, he voted for the approach that he sees as most appropriate in these circumstances, which is the “approach of Rashid Karami,” adding “a statesman who is keen on law, institutions, coexistence and people's interests away from personal matters, quotas and personal interests.”
