REPORT: Hariri after meeting Macron: I will clarify position on crisis when I return to Beirut
Saad Hariri, who resigned as Lebanon's prime minister this month while in Saudi Arabia, was welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on Saturday.

Macron then hosted a lunch in honor of Hariri, with his wife and eldest son who arrived later to the Elysee.

Following the meeting, Hariri said he would travel to Beirut in the coming days and announce his position on the crisis in his country after holding talks with President Michel Aoun.

"With regard to the political situation in Lebanon, I will go to Beirut in the coming days, I will participate in the independence celebrations, and it is there that I will make
known my position on these subjects after meeting President Aoun," Hariri said.
Earlier, Hariri told Lebanese President Michel Aoun in a phone call from Paris that he would be in Lebanon on Wednesday for Independence Day celebrations, Aoun said on Twitter.

Hariri's abrupt resignation on Nov. 4 and continued stay in Saudi Arabia has caused fears for Lebanon's stability. His visit to France with his family is seen as part of a possible way out of the crisis.
