Saudi ladies will play a more and more important role as the nation gradually loosens restrictions on them.
Saudi Arabia's General Sports Authority (GSA) for the first time agreed to allow women to enter sports fields and attend football matches at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, and the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
In 2017, the nation already allowed the first female Lebanese singer to perform in Saudi Arabia. The government lifted the ban on women driving in September 2017, which resulted in the first female automobile sales hall in Jeddah.
Wafaa Nadia, a media expert, said women will gain more achievements as they enjoy more rights in the future.
“In the future, we will see more and more Saudi women emerge in all the fields of society, including politics, economy, society, medical science and media. With the recognition of the women's rights in recent years, Saudi woman will gain more and more achievements,” said Nadia.
The Saudi government has been paying attention to the reform of women's rights in the past few years, especially since King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud came to the throne.
Saudi women were allowed to take part in the regional elections in 2015. And in July 2017, the education authorities allowed girls in public schools to take part in sports activities for the first time.
