REPORT: President Aoun holds talks with his Armenian counterpart
President Michel Aoun asserted on Thursday that Lebanon is committed to its land and sea borders and to its right to defend them in all legal means.

Aoun’s comments were made during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Armenia after holding talks.

Discussions reportedly featured high over the bilateral relations between the two countries whereby a number of agreements were inked.

This as Aoun tackled the Syrian refugee crisis, stressing importance of working to reach an international consensus that provides for the return of the displaced people to the safe areas in their country.

For his part, The Armenian president stressed the importance of preserving a high-level political dialogue between the two countries as an important step in the mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields.
 
Later in the day, President Aoun met with Armenian Prime Minister, Karen Karapetyan whereby he expressed Lebanon's desire to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

"I will coordinate with Prime Minister Saad Hariri to complete cooperation agreements during the Armenian PM's visit to Lebanon on March 12 and 13," Aoun added.

For his part, Armenian PM said that President Aoun's visit to Yerevan "will open the door for more Armenian and Lebanese investments in both countries."

Aoun started an official visit to Armenia on Wednesday following a similar visit to Iraq.
