Thousands turn out in Paris against Turkish forces' deployment in Afrin
Some 2,000 protesters marched in Paris on Saturday to rally against Turkey's military presence in Syria's northwestern town of Afrin.
Demonstrators carried banners and placards harboring slogans in solidarity for Kurds.
Nursel Kilic, a representative of Kurdish Women International Movement said the rally was to show that international opinion did not accept Turkey's military action in Afrin.
Turkey's military and its rebel allies on Sunday (March 18) captured Afrin, the culmination of a two-month campaign to sweep Syrian Kurdish fighters from a pocket of northwest Syria near the Turkish border.
