Lebanon’s ambassador to Libya to LBCI: A number of men attacked embassy’s headquarters
Lebanon News
Lebanese ambassador to Libya Mohammad Skaineh said on Monday that a number of men attacked the Lebanese embassy’s headquarters at dawn on the background of the Libyan flag incident in Beirut.

Skaineh’s comments were made during a phone call with LBCI whereby he noted that the assailants removed the embassy's sign “Lebanon’s embassy in Tripoli.”

He also noted that they did not attack the embassy’s staff, adding that things are now back to normal.

The ambassador asserted that Libya’s decision not to partake in the summit is “final,” adding however that the embassy was not notified of any severing of diplomatic ties with Libya.

Yesterday, a number of the AMAL Movement's supporters removed the flag of Libya from the Seaside Arena (formerly BIEL), replacing it with the Amal Movement flag, ahead of the Economic Summit scheduled to be held on the 20th of January in Beirut.

The movement accuses the former regime of slain Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi of abducting its founder Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions during a visit to Libya in 1978.
