Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) phalanxes spotlighted Tuesday's military parade in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
The drones formation displayed such unmanned aerial vehicles as high-altitude high speed drones, reconnaissance drones, small short-distance reconnaissance drones and medium-range high-speed drones in their real combat stances and bull's eye attacks.
The high-altitude high-speed reconnaissance drones, all black-coated UAV, made the public appearance for the first time.
The phalanx showcased the new-type combat forces in the future warfare and all these unmanned aerial vehicles are developed domestically, said Dang Dongxing, an officer leading one of the phalanxes, adding that China's unmanned combat armaments are close to or have reached the world advanced levels in some aspects.
Also displayed in the parade were China's reconnaissance-strike drones, such as GJ-2 and GJ-11, as well as unmanned underwater vehicles.
